Generic skills are a crucial component in nursing because they foster a collaborative, respectful and efficient workforce. In this context, this work seeks to explore the perceptions of nursing students regarding development of generic skills in their education. The sample corresponds to 355 nursing students from a private Chilean university, of which 84 are men and 251 women (25% and 75%, respectively). The data is collected through a questionnaire with 27 questions, Likert scale type, based on the Tuning Project. Results indicate a positive perception regarding the development of these competences in nursing professionals (M = 3,842). It is concluded that integrating them in the undergraduate curriculum is necessary.
