Abstract

Active learning is a pedagogical approach aimed at promoting student participation, the practical application of knowledge, competency development, and authentic assessment in higher education. This study aimed to validate the content of the Active Learning Experiences in Higher Education Questionnaire (EAA-ES), designed by Vera (2025), through expert judgment and the calculation of Aiken’s V coefficient. An instrumental, quantitative study was conducted, focused on obtaining evidence of content validity. The initial instrument included 20 items distributed across four dimensions: active participation, application of learning, competency development, and practical assessment. Six expert judges assessed the items in terms of relevance, clarity, coherence, and sufficiency, using a 1-to-4 scale. The results showed an overall Aiken’s V of .894, indicating high content validity. It is concluded that the EAA-ES can proceed to the pilot testing phase.
