Active learning and critical thinking: Fostering student development at a private chilean university

Abstract

Active learning and critical thinking are essential components of higher education that promote the holistic development of students. At a private Chilean university, these pedagogical approaches are gaining increasing relevance in fostering deep and meaningful learning. Through a qualitative lens, this article explores the significance of active learning and critical thinking in Nursing students in a Research Methodology course (n=38). It is concluded that the development of critical skills has a positive impact on the formation of informed and engaged citizens.
